Beavers Fall Short in Pac-12 Opener at Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. - The 23-ranked Beavers strung together five hits, including a pair of home runs at No. 24 Arizona State, but fell short, as Oregon State dropped a 5-3 decision at Farrington Stadium in the Pac-12 opener Friday night.

Sophomore struck out three in three innings, allowing five runs, three hits and five walks to suffer her second loss of the season. Freshman came in for relief in the fourth, striking out four and didn't allow a single hit.

Four different players accounted for OSU's five hits, including a team-high 2-for-3 performance from freshman .
