Beavers don't advance at NCAA Regional meet

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Javelin specialists McKenzie Byrd and Kindel Bailey finished their seasons on Thursday at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships.

A junior, Byrd took 13th in her heat and 44th overall with a mark of 131-8, well off her season-best of 150-9.25, the No. 2 mark in school history. A sophomore, Bailey had two fouls and passed on her final attempt. The school record-holder at 151-0, she has been fighting an elbow injury.

Redshirt sophomore Venessa D'Arpino ran 54.21 in the 400 meters and took sixth in her heat and 26th overall.
