MORAGA, Calif. – Nick Madrigal laced a 3-1 single back up the middle to cap off a three-run ninth inning, sending the top-ranked Oregon State baseball team to a 4-3 win over Saint Mary's Tuesday afternoon at Louis Guisto Field.
Down 3-1 entering the ninth, the Beavers strung together a rally. Cadyn Grenier extended the game with a bloop single to left, moving Adley Rutschman to third. Tyler Malone walked, then moved to second when Andy Atwood also walked, putting the game at 3-2 in favor of the Gaels.
