Beavers Beat ASU 12-2, Take Series

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Fourth-ranked Oregon State sent 10 to the plate in a six-run first inning en route to a 12-2 series-clinching victory over Arizona State in front of a near capacity crowd of 3,114 Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

Jake Thompson went seven, scattering five hits with six strikeouts, and the Beavers moved to 2-0 in Pac-12 Conference play with the convincing victory. OSU improved to 14-2 on the year while ASU dropped to 13-5.

Oregon State did not allow Sun Devil starter Eli Lingos to record an out, driving the lefty from the game after he allowed three hits and six runs – two earned – with two walks.
