AMES, Iowa – The Oregon State volleyball team went five sets for the second match in a row to open the season but this time came up short falling 3-2 to Mississippi Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers fell to 1-1 with the loss to Ole Miss (2-1) by scores of 25-23, 25-27, 20-25, 29-27 and 12-15.
Oregon State used a strong defense both at the net and in the back row to force long rallies, but couldn't overcome Ole Miss. OSU posted 15 blocks including nine by redshirt freshman Lindsey Schell and a career-high six by Maddie Goings.
