CORVALLIS - Playing in front of a nearly packed Gill Coliseum on Friday night, Oregon State beat Oregon 76-64 to snap a three-game losing streak in the Civil War.

The Beavers held UO to 11 of 35 from the field in (31.4 percent) in the first half yet only led by a narrow 30-29 margin at the game's midway point.

But utilizing a massive second half from an unsung starter and a consistently strong team defensive effort, they cruised to their second win of league play.

Top performances: OSU redshirt sophomore forward Tres Tinkle led the Beavers with 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
