With the 60th overall pick of the MLB Draft, the Atlanta Braves have selected Oregon State shortstop Beau Philip.
Philip only spent one season with the Beavers after transferring from San Joaquin Delta College, but he made a big impact. It’s hard to replace a player like Cadyn Grenier, but Philipo excelled both offensively and defensively. Philip finished second on the team in hits, behind only Adley Rutschman. He was also capable of providing power on occasion, with 14 doubles and 5 home runs.
Philip was an Honorable Mention for the Pac-12’s All Defensive Team, and finished the season with 54 putouts and 86 assists, for a .
