LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Batya Beard wrapped up day one of the Pac-12 Championships for the Oregon State track and field team in thrilling fashion on Friday as she set a new school record in the 10k.
Arizona State and Oregon are currently atop the women's team leader board with 18 points, while California is third with 17. The Beavers sit seventh with seven points.
"In a conference championship format you have to be prepared for long days," said head coach Louie Quintana. "With how we started (Lindsay (McShane) scoring in the hammer) and how we ended (Batya (Beard) scoring and obliterating the school record in the 10k) made it all worth it.
