From Oregon State University:
SALT LAKE CITY – Luke Heimlich tossed a career-long 8 1/3 innings and Jack Anderson and Andy Atwood each drove in two to pace Oregon State in its doubleheader opener Friday, a 7-2 win over Utah at Smith's Ballpark.
Heimlich surpassed his previous long stint of 7 2/3 innings earlier this season against Central Arkansas. The lefty scattered six hits and a run – his lone blemish a home run in the ninth inning – and struck out four to earn his fifth win of the season.
Trevor Larnach's sixth-inning double broke a scoreless stalemate and Anderson drove in two with a double in the eighth to extend Oregon State's (26-9 overall, 8-6 Pac-12 Conference) lead to 3-0.
