Arizona has hired former Oregon State football assistant John Rushing to join its staff as safeties coach.
Rushing coached safeties at OSU last season, replacing Derrick Odum after Odum left to become the defensive coordinator at San Jose State. He joins the staff of new Arizona head coach Kevin Sumlin, who was a graduate assistant at Washington State when Rushing played defensive back. Rushing also previously coached with Arizona defensive coordinator Marcel Yates at Montana State.
Rushing is the fourth assistant coach from last year's OSU football staff to earn a position at another school.
