The Oregon State Beavers have gotten off to a slow start to the college football season, falling to 1-2 Saturday with a 48-14 loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
However, there was a silver lining to the weekend, as Oregon State three-star tight end commit Isaiah Smalls indicated there were silent commitments in the fold.
It seemed clear that one of those would turn out to be speedy 247Sports three-star Anthony Spurlock, who set a decision date for Monday while on his visit to Corvallis.
On Monday evening, the 6-foot-1, 160-pound speedster, out of Edna Karr HIgh School (New Orleans, Louisiana), made it official, announcing his commitment to Oregon State over offers from Idaho, Jacksonville State, Nicholls State and Troy:

But the good news may not end there, as Smalls indicated there was more than one behind-the-scenes pledge.
