Portland – Adley Rutschman, the most decorated college baseball player in state history, continued to add to his myriad of honors by being selected the Bill Hayward Amateur Athlete of the Year as announced by NBC Sports Northwest.
The Sherwood, Ore., native is the third OSU student-athlete to win the prestigious Hayward Award in the last four years joining his former teammate Nick Madrigal and basketball standout Gary Payton II.
Rutschman completed a sweep of every possible award for a position player in 2019. He was named the 2019 winner of the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, which are both given to the top player in the country.
