Despite a generally solid performance from the OSU defense, it was still hampered with its two starting cornerbacks (Larry Scott and Treston Decoud) both out. Utah quarterback Travis Wilson finished 14 of 17 for 198 yards and he was able to connect on down field throws at critical times, including a 37-yard dart to Kenneth Scott in the fourth quarter that set up a Utah touchdown. The Beavers face potent passing attacks from UCLA and Cal over the next two weeks and will need more depth in the secondary.
Given the end of Utah’s undefeated season one week ago, all signs pointed to a dominant Utes win this Saturday.
