1. You’re someone looking at the program with orange-colored glasses if progress is all you see from Oregon State this season. There was some, to be sure, but it was mostly in the areas of culture and foundation. Those are big. But ultimately, it’s about what happens on the scoreboard, and why those numbers are showing up on the scoreboard. From that aspect, the most disappointing aspect to emerge from this season was the run defense and its inability to improve from Game 1 to Game 12. There’s only so much scheme the coaches can draw up help stop an opposing running game.
