You won’t find many college football programs more admired for their steadiness or ability to wring the most out of its talent than Utah’s.
The Utes are now in the 14th full season of coach Kyle Whittingham’s tenure and have missed the postseason just twice in that span while going 10-1 in bowls — and 11-1, if you count the 2005 Fiesta Bowl, his first game as head coach after Urban Meyer left. Whittingham has won 66.5 percent of his games and that football success helped make Utah an attractive target for the Pac-12 when it was looking to expand in 2010.
