SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Sophomore Aaron Wise carded a 4-under 66 Tuesday to hold a one-stroke lead over Stanford’s Maverick McNealy and put the Oregon men’s golf team in second heading into the final round at the Western Intercollegiate.
How It Happened: The par-70, 6,615-yard Pasatiempo Golf Club played tougher than Monday’s first round, in which the Ducks carded a 9-under 341. Oregon followed up Monday’s effort with a 354 to sit in second at 5-under overall and three strokes back from leader No. 9 Stanford. Top-ranked USC is the only other team in the field under par through 36, currently in third at 2-under.
