EUGENE, Ore. – Micah Williams turned into a qualifying performance in the opening round of the 100 meters Thursday on day one of the USATF Championships at Hayward Field. Former Oregon standouts accounted for 10 semifinal berths including four moving on in the men's 1500 meters.
Williams was one of three UO men in the opening heat of the 100 meters first round. The Portland native was third across the finish line in 10.11 to guarantee himself a lane in the semifinals. Just two lanes to his right, Kyree King posted a time of 10.
