EUGENE, Ore. — Bennett Williams received more praise for his two-interception performance in Oregon's 41-19 win over Arizona on Thursday as the junior safety was named the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Player of the Week.
This is the third national honor of the week for Williams, who was the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week while also landing on Pro Football Focus' National Team of the Week. Williams was also the second straight Duck to be named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, joining fellow safety Verone McKinley III.
