EUGENE -- Tony Brooks-James entered the season as Oregon's feature back, but an ankle injury and the emergence of CJ Verdell have caused the redshirt-senior to not have any carries in the last three games and his role is somewhat ambiguous.
Brooks-James appeared in last week's game at Washington State, but because Wazzu's kickoffs went well into or through the end zone for touchbacks each time he didn't even get to attempt a return.
With Oregon gaining just 58 rushing yards, its fewest in Pac-12 play since 2007, the relegation of Brooks-James, the team's only senior offensive player to play his whole career with the Ducks, was perplexing to many fans.
