One of the things about track and field that is both frustrating and wonderful is the way so much can happen all at once.
Yesterday was a case in point.
While the Oregon Ducks were rallying from behind to win the NCAA women's outdoor title at Hayward Field with a dramatic finish in the 4x400-meter relay, the meet's last event, Olympic medalists Shalane Flanagan and Galen Rupp were running their first 10,000-meter races in what seems like forever 100 miles north in the Portland Track Festival at Lewis & Clark College.
We were at both events.
