EUGENE, Ore. – Freshman Max Vollmer made his Pac-12 Championships debut a memorable one with a first-place performance in the decathlon. In the conference team race, the Men of Oregon collected 14 points between Vollmer's win and the fifth-place finish by Dalen Hargett.
The 2019 Pac-12 Championships continues May 11-12 at Roy P. Drachman Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. On the women's side, the Ducks picked up a point from an eighth-place showing by Keira McCarrell in the heptathlon.
Vollmer is the 10th Duck in program history to win the conference decathlon title, and first since Mitch Modin won in 2017.
