DALLAS – Coming off a second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season, Oregon junior CJ Verdell earned spot on the Doak Walker Award Watch List for the second straight year on Wednesday.
The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation's top college running back. Oregon has had a running back earn semifinalist status for the award five times since 2010, highlighted by LaMichael James winning in 2010.
Verdell is one of seven returning FBS players with 1,000 yards rushing each of the last two seasons while his total of 2,238 yards over that span is fourth among returning players.
