EUGENE, Ore. – Jorinde Van Klinken broke the NCAA record in the indoor shot put Saturday at the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Having broken the Oregon school mark twice in as many meets to start the season, Van Klinken unleashed a toss of 19.57m/64-2.5 in the fifth round of the competition to add a second collegiate record to her highly decorated career.
Coupled with Van Klinken's historic measure, the Ducks added five top-10 program marks on day two of a busy, three-meet weekend schedule. Jadyn Mays, also at the Don Kirby meet, joined Van Klinken in the winners' circle Saturday with a victory at 60 meters.
