USTFCCCA selects Oregon Duck sprinter Deajah Stevens as women's athlete of the week

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named University of Oregon sprinter Deajah Stevens women's athlete of the week.

The Oregon junior dashed into the record book Sunday in the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships while winning the 200 meters in 22.09 seconds, second-fastest in collegiate history.

Dawn Stowell of LSU, who was timed in 22.04 in 1989, is the only collegian to have run faster.

Stevens also won the 100 meters and ran the second leg of the Ducks' winning 4x100 relay at the Pac-12 Championships.

Tennessee sprinter Christian Coleman, who became the first man in collegiate history to crack 10 seconds in the 100 and 20 seconds in the 200 on the same day, was picked as men's athlete of the week.
