EUGENE - The Oregon Ducks started well on rainy Saturday at Hayward Field, but when they unraveled it happened fast.
USC won the women's title at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the day's final event with Kendall Ellis' dramatic anchor leg of the women's 4x400 relay by one point over Georgia.
Ellis made up 15 meters on the home straight to catch Purdue's Jahneya Mitchell at the line to win the relay in 3 minutes, 27.06 seconds, and give the Trojans the 10 team points they needed to pass Georgia in the standings.
Ellis' split was 50.
