The University of Portland men and Oregon women claimed the NCAA West Regional cross country championships Friday in Sacramento, California.
UP senior Nick Hauger won the men's race, covering the 10,000-meter course at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in 29 minutes, 42.4 seconds to lead the Pilots to the team title. UP put five runners in the top 26.
Portland finished with 77 team points. Washington was second with 82, followed by Boise State, Stanford and Oregon.
The Ducks were paced by senior Blake Haney, eighth overall in 29:48.2.
Oregon held off Boise State for the women's team title.
