Men Open with Five Advancing to Quarterfinals
The Oregon track and field team advanced five men—including three in the 1500 meters—to the quarterfinal heats on the first day of the NCAA West Preliminary at John McDonnell Field.
The Ducks kicked off their day with a perfect 3-for-3 performance in the first round of the 1500 meters. Tomas Palfrey and Rheinhardt Harrison posted season-best times of 3:40.76 and 3:41.04, respectively, while Pac-12 champion Elliott Cook finished in 3:41.57. All three secured automatic spots in Friday’s quarterfinals by finishing in the top five of their respective heats.
