Oregon true freshman Janice Tjen added yet another postseason honor to a growing list of awards, receiving ITA Northwest Region Freshman of the Year recognition Monday.
Tjen is the first player in program history to receive the honor, after turning in the best season in singles play by any Oregon player. She delivered the deepest NCAA Singles Championship run by a Duck, advancing to the national semifinals and finishing the season 22-3 in singles play.
The freshman from Jakarta, Indonesia picked up four dominant victories over ranked opponents to reach the final four of the singles championship.
