Three Teams Receive NCAA Public Recognition Awards For Academic Success

EUGENE, Ore. – In its first season of eligibility, Oregon's beach volleyball program joined the UO women's golf and men's tennis teams in earning the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for academic achievement.

The NCAA on Wednesday announced 1,284 teams as recipients of Public Recognition Awards for progress in the classroom through the 2016-17 academic year. Using the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate to quantify success, Public Recognition Awards went to teams finishing in the top 10 percent nationally for their sport, including the three from Oregon.

The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention over single years and also four-year periods.
