NEW YORK – On one of the biggest stages in indoor track and field, three Ducks took down Oregon school records at the Millrose Games, Saturday, and assumed the position of NCAA leaders in the process.
Ten-time NCAA Champion Edward Cheserek was the first to compete, running the second-fastest 3,000-meter time in NCAA history with a sixth-place finish of 7:40.41. The junior led the middle portion of the race before the field became very congested in the final few laps, as the top seven competitors finished within two seconds of each other. Cheserek’s time broke Galen Rupp’s 2009 school record (7:44.
