SEATTLE — A week after squandering the lead to WSU and being challenged to finish, Oregon came through … if just barely.
Washington cut a 17-point UO lead to just six late in the fourth quarter Saturday night in Husky Stadium, stirring echoes of the Cougars’ comeback from a 10-point deficit before winning in overtime a week earlier. Unable to get a first down on two straight fourth-quarter drives in that game, the UO offense moved the chains to kill some clock on a crucial late possession at UW, then saw freshman Ugo Amadi come up with an interception to clinch Oregon’s 12th straight victory in the rivalry, 26-20.
