EUGENE -- I'll be interested in what kind of crowds show up for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begin today at Hayward Field.
It appears today's weather will be decent. The forecast I saw calls for partly sunny conditions with temperatures reaching the upper 70s.
It's supposed to deteriorate thereafter, with rain expected the next three days.
The UO men don't appear to be a factor in the competition for the men's team title. In fact, the Ducks may have trouble cracking the top 10 in the final team standings.
This is counterbalanced by the powerful UO women's team, which is expected to run away with the team title and clinch the first women's triple crown -- NCAA championships in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in the same academic year -- in Division I history.
