Though not an NCAA sponsored sport, Ultimate has robust organized competition in the United States and Canada. USA Ultimate sponsors men’s and women’s competition for college clubs. Oregon has club teams who compete at the D-1 level in their respective divisions, and each reached the quarterfinals of their national tournament in the 2024 season.
The Oregon men’s club, “Ego,” has one of the most iconic histories in the sport. The team’s original founder was Henry Callahan, an individual so influential in the development of Ultimate that the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy is named in his honor.
