Facing a powerhouse UCLA squad featuring three ranked doubles teams and four top-100 singles players, the Oregon women’s tennis team fell 4-0 to the 26th-ranked Bruins on Friday at the UO Student Tennis Center.

UCLA (6-4, 1-0) secured the doubles point, but not without a fight from the Ducks. Bridget Mihulka and Karin Young pushed the Bruins’ third-ranked duo of Olivia Center and Kate Fakih to a tight 6-4 score on court two. Meanwhile, at the No. 1 spot, Tilde Jagare and Juliet Santitto trailed 5-4 against the nation’s 12th-ranked team when the point was clinched.

In singles, UCLA’s top three players won in straight sets to seal the match.
