Before the game started, Oregon announced that they would be without Bol Bol, who suffered an undisclosed left foot injury sometime last week.
Bol, the team’s leading scorer with 21 points per game, was forced to ride the bench in a protective boot and for the first half of the game it appeared Oregon’s offense would not be able to overcome his absence. But after being held to a measly 24-point opening half, the Ducks outscored the Broncos 42 to 26.
Without Bol, Oregon’s veterans had to step up their offensive game; Junior Payton Pritchard scored 19 and Senior Paul White scored 14.
