EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon track and field sprinter Deajah Stevens announced via social media on Wednesday night that she will be foregoing her senior season with the Ducks to turn professional.
"Excited to officially announce that I am going pro!" Stevens wrote on her Instagram account. "Grateful to my mom, coaches and friends for their support, and I will stay at UO to finish school. Off to London soon!"
Stevens, a 2016 Olympian, is coming off winning the 2017 U.S. title in the 200 meters at the U.S. Outdoor Championships. She also took second in the 100 meters to give herself a pair of entries at the IAAF World Championships in London next month.
