Steer Extends Hitting Streak in Loss

EUGENE, Ore. – extended his school-record hitting streak to 17 games as Oregon and No. 2 Stanford combined for a PK Park record seven home runs in a 20-5 Cardinal Pac-12 Conference win on Friday.

How it happened: Steer singled up the middle to extend his streak a day after breaking the modern era record for hits in consecutive games.

The hit sparked a four-run rally capped by a grand slam.

The rally came too late as Stanford (26-6, 12-2 Pac-12) jumped on the Ducks (22-15, 7-7 Pac-12) early scoring five runs in the top of the first inning before adding 11 more runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
