EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon junior shortstop Spencer Steer earned a pair of awards for his play last week at No. 7 Oregon State and at Washington State. Steer claimed Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week honors as well as earning one of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week accolades.
Steer (Long Beach, Calif. / Millikan HS) batted .474 (9-for-19) with three home runs, 12 RBI and six runs scored leading Oregon to a 3-1 record with a road win against the nationally-ranked Beavers and a series win at WSU. Two of Steer's three home runs were grand slams, including a two-out, game-tying shot in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday.
