EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon's superb sophomore duo set the tone in each half Monday as the UO women's basketball team opened its 2023-24 season with an 81-48 victory over Northern Arizona at Matthew Knight Arena.
Grace VanSlooten bounced back from a scoreless first half to score a team-high 19 points, after fellow sophomore Chance Gray scored 13 of her 17 points in the first half. That's the kind of production the Ducks will be looking for all season from their top returning scorers from last year.
"We're definitely going to have to step up and embrace our roles, for sure," Gray said.
