Though winter is in full swing in the Pacific Northwest, the diamond sports are set to begin with Ducks Softball starting their season on February 7. In this article I take a look at what some of the advanced stats say about how Oregon compares to their competition in the new Big Ten.
My first idea was to go through all 17 rosters (Southern California does not sponsor softball as a varsity sport) and amalgamate the stats for returning pitching and batting production. I quickly realized that was a project I could not hope to complete in a month, let alone a week.
