Oregon showed flashes of competitiveness against Indiana on Thursday at Papé Field, but two late goals in each half helped the Hoosiers secure a 3-1 win in front of 612 fans. Despite a strong start, the Ducks (5-6, 1-3 Big Ten) couldn’t maintain their momentum, allowing Indiana to take control in both halves.
Indiana scored twice after the midway point of the first half, putting the Ducks in a 2-0 hole at halftime. Oregon cut the deficit to 2-1 early in the second half when Makoto Nezu converted a penalty kick, but Indiana added a third goal late in the match to seal the victory.
