SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Oregon raced out to an early 10-point lead in the first half, but ran out of gas as Syracuse stormed back to defeat the Ducks, 83-63, in a neutral-site battle on Sunday morning.
UO found strong play from its pair of star freshmen as Kawme Evans Jr. dropped 17 points, eight rebounds and four steals while Jackson Shelstad dropped 16 as the duo led the Ducks in scoring. A pair of triples from Shelstad created an 8-0 scoring run that helped the Ducks jump on top 14-4 in the first half before the Orange took control from there.
