Sewell Tabbed Freshman All-American

EUGENE, Ore. – Despite playing just the first six games of the season, Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell was named a 247Sports True Freshman All-American on Monday.

Ranked the No. 4 offensive lineman in the Pac-12 and the No. 10 tackle nationally by Pro Football Focus (PFF), Sewell was the first Oregon true freshman to start on the offensive line in the season opener since Lee Gundy in 1997 and one of nine FBS true freshmen to do so in 2018.

The Saint George, Utah product was named a midseason freshman All-American by ESPN.
