College football recruiting is trending younger and younger, with top programs offering high school freshmen on a regular basis.
Sometimes those freshmen become enamored with an early scholarship offer and commit, giving top-flight programs an early pledge that may or may not stick.
That's the situation for 247Sports four-star prospect Seven McGee, the nation's No. 2 running back in the class of 2021.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound ball-carrier originally committed to the Ducks in April - when he was still just a freshman in high school.
Since that time, McGee has moved from California to New York and established himself as one of the nation's best prospects regardless of class, adding offers from Nebraska, Syracuse and USC.
