Second Season Under Graves Begins With "Camp Guard 'Em"

The lettering was in cheerful yellow and chipper green, its message more ominous.

When the Oregon women’s basketball team reported for the first workout of its 2015-16 season last week, a sign hung at the door of the practice courts. The Ducks were being welcomed to “Camp Guard ‘Em.”

Looking to set the tone for his second season at the helm, UO coach Kelly Graves put the Ducks through three days of defensive drills to open practice. Oregon made strides defensively last season, transitioning from a run-and-gun philosophy to Graves’ more methodical approach. This year, he wants them to be even tougher.
