On Monday afternoon, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott was in Eugene to discuss time demands with a cross section of Oregon student-athletes, and how they balance their interests in both sport and school.
The meeting was one of a dozen Scott is holding, one at each conference campus, is what is being termed a “listening tour” for the commissioner. But he wasn’t the only one who learned some things from his meeting with the Ducks.
“Today was really helpful just to get a wider range of student-athletes understanding what the issues are,” said lacrosse player Ali Scharkey, a member of Oregon’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Pac-12’s Student-Athlete Leadership Team.
