San Francisco 49ers defensive end DeForest Buckner was selected to NFL's 2016 All-Rookie team in a vote by the Pro Football Writers of America.
Buckner, the No. 7 overall selection in the 2016 NFL draft, was one of the few bright spots in a dismal season for the 49ers. The former Oregon star ranked second among all NFL defensive tackles with 73 tackles on the season. He finished with six sacks, ranking fourth in the NFL among rookies.
Buckner led all defensive tackles in snaps, (1,006) and finished second to New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon (1,040) in total snaps among all defensive linemen, according to sportingcharts.
