Three athletes with Oregon ties advanced in their respective events on the second day of action at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London on Saturday.
Former Barlow High School star Ryan Crouser advanced to Sunday's shot put final with a throw of 68 feet, 7 inches. Three other Americans will join Crouser in the final field of 12, with Ryan Whiting, Joe Kovacs and Darrell Hill also advancing.
Oregon Ducks sprinter Ariana Washington finished third in her 100-meter heat, crossing in 11.28 seconds to claim an automatic qualifying spot for Sunday's semifinals.
