Oregon sophomore Ruthy Hebard was named one of five finalists Thursday for a national award honoring women's college basketball's top power forward.
Hebard joins Baylor's Lauren Cox, Connecticut's Napheesa Collier, Georgia's Caliya Robinson and Louisville's Myisha Hines-Allen as finalists for the inaugural Katrina McClain Award, which is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The winner will be announced March 30 during the NCAA tournament Final Four.
Hebard has averaged 18.0 points and a team-high 8.6 rebounds for the conference-champion Ducks, and in February her 33 consecutive made field goals set an NCAA record.
