- Jon Hendershott, who spent a half century covering track and field all over the world, died Monday after a suffering a stroke at his Salem home.
Hendershott was an old-school gentleman in all the good and laudatory ways that implies. I spent a lot of time talking to him Saturday at the Pepsi Team Invitational. He was retired from Track & Field at that point, but couldn't stay away.
He will be missed.
